This is a system that detects slag mixed in molten steel produced in the steel refining process and prevents slag contamination in the molten steel. In HSD-10, the difference in brightness (luminance) between molten steel and slag is utilized to measure the flowing molten steel with an infrared camera, detecting slag from changes in brightness.
